Joanna Lopez

Joanna Lopez is the subject of an urban legend of a young woman that went missing in 1989 in Chicago. In her television appearance, she has a plain white T-shirt and glasses. No one knows who she is due to the bad, yet uncanny, quality of the picture after she appeared on television.

Story[]

On January 14, 1989, WMAQ Channel 5 was doing a PSAs, Anti-drug, and Meditation Segments. They were also doing a National Anthem, While there was an Anthem going on, a few seconds later there was a sign off of Joanna's picture. When her picture appeared, it showed a number that says "Call: 312-744-5594", a bar that says "MISSING", and a person you can barely see due to the poor quality of the picture. Joanna's Picture had been on television for 20 seconds, and nothing changes. It is just her picture, and the background had no sound, just silence.

2 years later on January 14, 1991, WMAQ Channel 5 showed a photo of Lopez again while there was a Pre-recorded video of the National Anthem 1989, After that, WMAQ signed off right after her picture came for a few seconds, People have been trying to call the number that was connected to the Chicago police, but there was no answer. But this time the quality of her picture has been higher.

People can barely see who Joanna Lopez is. Due to the Poor quality of the picture, WMAQ didn't show any information about Joanna, just her name, and a number just to call the Chicago police. But people have been calling the number to talk to the Chicago Police about Joanna but no one was answering, there were also no police reports on her, she isn't in the records of the missing people. There was a conspiracy that Joanna is not a real person, she is just a non-existent figure that WMAQ created. There is still no any information about Joanna. And This case has not been solved until this day.

Redditors have been editing Joanna's picture higher, investigating her, and saying all kinds of conspiracies about her. People have been going to the records of missing people and they couldn't find a missing person named "Joanna Lopez".

People say that Lopez had did a runaway from her home when she went missing. Her parents might of told WMAQ to put on Joanna's picture on television to help contact her or if anyone saw her.

Theory 2: "Joanna Lopez" never existed[]

Lopez probably never exist. But why would WMAQ put on her picture? Well redditors said that a hacker probably hacked channel 5 while the National Anthem was going on.

Theory 3: Chicago Jane Doe 1994[]

There was a rumor that Joanna is probably the Chicago Jane doe 1994. People also believe in this theory because

Reason 1: they both have the same appearance, by her hair, and skin tone.
Reason 2: the Jane doe died at the same area where Joanna went missing at, Chicago.

Theory 4: TV Hoax/Test[]

WMAQ was probably tricking, scaring people, or conducting a test for a photo when she first came on television.

Theory 5: Wrong Name[]

There was a rumor that there was a female high school student that is named Rachel Lopez that goes to a Chicago Community High School. People were thinking she is probably Joanna Lopez due to the same appearance. Rachel had the same features of Joanna, Rachel had glasses, the same hair, and same skin tone, as Joanna. And Rachel also went to high school in the 1980s.
